How we work
We're a small studio of senior practitioners - developers, designers, frontend engineers, SEO specialists, and the people who keep engagements running. Most of us have over a decade in the work, across agencies, in-house roles, and independent client work.
We're small on purpose. It means the people you brief are the people doing the work. It means we choose what we take on. And it means there's no sales layer between you and the engineering, design, or strategy.

A little bit out of the way
Most of the businesses we work with are a little bit out of the way from Cape Town central - wine farms in Robertson, guesthouses in Riebeek Valley, restaurants in the Overberg, artisan producers in Tulbagh. Places where the experience is world-class but the website hasn't quite caught up.
The big Cape Town and Joburg agencies don't service these clients well. The budgets are too small, the relationships too informal, and frankly, the drive is too far. These businesses end up with either an expensive site they can't update, or a template they're embarrassed by.
Moducraft exists to fill that gap. We deliver the same quality of work you'd get from a city agency - modern, mobile-first, properly built - but sized for businesses that aren't Stellenbosch corporates. The price reflects the scale of the engagement, not a discount on the quality.
Built for local business, backed by international experience
Moducraft also works with international clients through moducraft.io - custom platforms, AI integration, and business automation for companies in the US, UK, and Europe. That experience is part of how we work: the same tools, the same standards, and the same people.
This site exists because South African small businesses have different needs. You need someone who understands your market, speaks your language, prices in Rand, and builds for the way your customers actually find you - on a phone, on a patchy connection, searching for something nearby. That's a different brief to an international SaaS platform, and it deserves its own focus.
If your business grows into something that needs more - automation, internal tooling, AI - we can take that on too. But we'll never push it. This site is about getting you the website and the support that fits where you are right now.
What working with us looks like
A first conversation lasts about 20 minutes. We listen to what you're working with, what's bothering you, and what you're hoping to change. We'll usually have a sense of whether we can help by the end of the call.
If we move forward, we send a short written scope and a fair price. No 40-page proposals, no sales sequences, no follow-up calls trying to upsell you. If you say yes, we send a deposit invoice and a start date.
During the build, you'll hear from us regularly - updates, drafts, questions, links to preview. Most clients spend about 2-3 hours total across a whole project. Between those touchpoints, we get on with it.
At handover, you get a working site, a training video on how to update it yourself, and a choice: you can manage everything from here, or you can move onto a monthly Care Plan and we'll keep looking after it.
About working with Moducraft
A small studio. Senior people, no juniors, no sales account layer between you and the work. Big enough to deliver properly, small enough that you talk directly to the person doing the thing.
Because that's where the gap is. Big agencies don't travel for a R25,000 project. SEO mills send generic proposals from overseas. The businesses in Robertson, Tulbagh, and Riebeek Valley deserve the same digital quality as anyone in Cape Town - they just need someone willing to meet them where they are.
