The problem

Your website was built and handed over, and since then nobody has touched it. WordPress has released a dozen updates, the plugins are flagging warnings you do not understand, and the theme was last updated by someone who has since moved on. You are not sure whether the backups work, or whether there are any. Something broke last month and you did not know who to call. You do not need another agency. You need one person who knows your site, keeps it running, and picks up the phone when you need a change made.

What we do

We look after your WordPress or WooCommerce site every month. Core, plugin and theme updates are tested on a staging copy first, then rolled out to the live site. We monitor uptime and security, take regular backups we have actually restored from, and run a technical SEO and speed check so nothing slips quietly. Depending on your plan you also get a set number of hours each month for ad-hoc changes - new menu items, updated prices, a seasonal banner, a new product range. One invoice, one person to call, and everything registered in your name.

Built for WordPress and WooCommerce

Most small business sites in South Africa run on WordPress, and most of the sites we take over do too. We know which plugin updates break checkouts, which caching setups fight with WooCommerce, and how to fix both without downtime.

Sized to your site, not a fixed bundle

A five-page brochure site and a WooCommerce shop with 400 products do not need the same care. Plans start at R600 a month for essential updates and monitoring, and scale up to R3,000 a month when you want hours for changes and a monthly SEO check built in.

A developer in Cape Town, not a ticket queue

We are based in Kenilworth and work with businesses across Cape Town and the Western Cape. You get a direct line to the person who maintains your site, and a same-day answer when something urgent comes up.

Proof

What we see when we take a site over

Most of the WordPress sites that arrive with us have the same three problems: plugins two years out of date, a backup nobody has tested, and a hosting login the owner cannot find. None of them announce themselves. The site looks fine right up until a payment gateway plugin stops working or the host suspends the account. A Care Plan is the boring, monthly work that stops that from happening.

What a Care Plan covers

Every plan includes the essentials: updates, security, backups and monitoring. As you move up, you add change hours, a monthly SEO check and priority response. We look at your site first, tell you which plan fits, and put the price in writing before you commit.

  • WordPress core, plugin and theme updates
  • WooCommerce and payment gateway plugin updates, checkout tested after each one
  • Staging copy of your site for testing before anything goes live
  • Security monitoring, malware scanning and patching
  • Regular off-site backups with a tested restore
  • Uptime monitoring with a person who responds, not just an alert
  • Monthly technical SEO and page speed check
  • Email delivery checks - SPF, DKIM and DMARC kept valid, new mailboxes and forwarders added when you need them
  • CDN and firewall (WAF) health checks so the site stays fast and blocked traffic stays blocked
  • SSL, domain and hosting renewals tracked so nothing lapses
  • Hours for ad-hoc changes on the larger plans
  • Direct access to your developer by email, phone or WhatsApp

Not included

A redesign or rebuild of your site (that is a Site Refresh or Rebuild), new feature development beyond your plan hours, content writing, and paid advertising management. If you need hosting as well, our Managed Hosting can be bundled into the plan.

Not sure what your site needs?

Send us the URL and we will look at it for free - which version of WordPress it is on, which plugins are out of date, and whether the backups are real. Then we tell you which plan fits.

Who this is for

Any Cape Town or Western Cape business with a WordPress or WooCommerce site that needs someone to look after it. Restaurants and takeaways with online ordering, online shops, guesthouses with booking forms, professional practices, and producers who sell from a farm stall and a website. It is particularly useful if the person who built your site is no longer around, or if you are outside the city and cannot easily pop into an office - the relationship is remote-first and built around being responsive when you need something.

WordPress maintenance questions we get asked

No. Most of the sites on our Care Plans were built by someone else. We start with a short audit of the site, hosting and backups, fix anything urgent, and then move it onto the monthly plan.

Yes. WooCommerce sites need more care than brochure sites because a broken plugin update can stop checkout. We test every update on a staging copy, check the payment flow after each one, and keep an eye on gateway plugins for PayFast, Yoco and iKhokha.

The entry plan covers updates, security monitoring, backups and uptime monitoring for a smaller site. The larger plans add hours for content and design changes each month, a monthly technical SEO and speed check, and priority response. We recommend a plan after looking at your site, and you can move up or down with 30 days notice.

No. We are based in Cape Town and most of our clients are in the Western Cape, but the work is remote. Updates, monitoring and changes happen through your hosting and a shared staging site, and we talk by email, phone or WhatsApp.

On a Care Plan we usually catch it early through monitoring. If a site is compromised we restore from a clean backup, patch the entry point, rotate the credentials and tell you exactly what happened. Cleanup of a site that is not yet on a plan is quoted separately.

Yes. Managed Hosting can be bundled into your Care Plan so there is one invoice and one person responsible for both. If you are happy with your current host we can work with that instead, as long as we have proper access.

Care Plans run month to month with 30 days notice either way. Everything - domain, hosting and site - stays registered in your name, so if you ever leave you take it all with you.
